You ever been to a wedding where the couple stares deep into each others souls with smiles on their faces and holds on to each other like they’re the last people on earth? Well, I can officially say I have! Meeting Javier for the first time, he was quiet! Much to my surprise on the wedding day he completely came out of his shell and even played along with the crazy things I say to get people to smile like — 1,2,3 CHUCK E CHEESE! They were both so good at it and it made the portraits fun. Grace was as cool as a cucumber, with love in her heart and family that treated ME like family… I could see it in her eyes, she was anxious to marry the love of her life. The entire day was so comforting and jubilant!
Grace & Javier met on Match.com, talked for about a week and then met in person at a Cuban restaurant in Oak Cliff. On that first date, Grace remembered that she first went to the wrong location, which made her just a tad late to the correct location. But it never hurts to keep a man waiting, just a little. LOL! They were both nervous at first! She told me about remembering when she came up the stairs, he got up from his chair and brought her flowers like the gentleman he is! They were completely captivated with each other. Her by his smile, especially when he was laughing and him by those beautiful Latina curls in her hair.
On the night Javier proposed, Javier took Grace to his sister’s house where there were some out of town family visiting and he invited a couple who are friends of Grace’s (one of whom is one of our wedding officiants!) . They were having a cookout and he waited until the very end of the night, probably because he was nervous to pop the question! He had one of his nephews record the proposal on his phone so that we could send it to my family in her hometown of New Jersey. It was a very happy moment, everyone was surprised and excited about the news!
Because of Grace’s love of history in Latin America, the natural lush beauty you find in Latin American gardens and the rich history you feel when walking pueblo streets, she decided to bring in elements of a romantic Spanish hacienda designed in their wedding. They were married on February 15, 2019 at The Springs Event Venue in Aubrey, Texas! #avellasinlove
