Dalyla & Jesus’ wedding at The Pearl at Sabine Creek was absolutely perfect. Dalyla was inspired by the fall color palette of burgundy mixed with some blush, champagne, and ivory colors. Her florist Pick A Daisy Floral Design did an outstanding job piecing together the burgundy and blush inspired details and was careful enough not to overpower one color over the other. They tied in Hispanic traditions from the lasso during the ceremony to a fun veil dance during the reception. The DJ kept it hot with lots of SELENA!! You know I immediately biddi bidi bom bom’d my way onto the dance floor when it came on y’all! With daylight savings time sneaking upon us, we had just enough light to work quickly on some portraits and MY GOSH, talk about breathtaking!
I thought about what to say a million times but there really aren’t enough words to explain how long I’ve waited for this day. This was my LAST wedding of 2019 and I am so proud to say it! Dalyla and I met at the Galleria in Dallas over a year ago to see if we were the right fit for each other for her wedding day. As I do with all my brides, I walked her through my process and let her know I was just starting out in my business. I could tell she was just as detail-oriented as I was so I probably knew we were a great fit even before she did. Little did I know, that over the course of this past year+ some months, I would become dang near family with both hers and Jesus’ side. It is crazy to me how close we’ve all become and I am incredibly grateful for their humble and kind hearts.
Here’s a little story of these two love birds:
how they met
Jesus and I met at a mutual friends’ graduation in Dec 2016. We didn’t officially start hanging on until Feb of 2017. Jesus’s best buddy invited him to join his girlfriend’s graduation festivities In Dallas and I’m soo happy he accepted to come into town that weekend! (He lives in Austin). I wasn’t really into him during our first encounter (oops!) and he SWEARS he saw love at first sight! HA!
their first date
As our first date, we went out for wings and a movie. During dinner, I jokingly said the quote above as he tried to steal a couple of fries from my meal. It took him by surprise because he sincerely thought I was serious about not sharing my food. It was our first date, so I had to assure him I was only joking but I guess I was also just being cautious about sharing food… since I didn’t know he was going to be THE ONE haha. Now, it’s an ongoing joke/line we have every time we go out to eat/or when we pick on each other’s food.
It was my birthday weekend and I was told that we were going to celebrate my 25th bday at my sister’s house. His family was coming as well, but i didn’t think much of it as I wanted them to celebrate my birthday with me. He took me out to the Dallas Arboretum “to kill time” before the party but little did i know that there was a photographer secretly capturing the moment the entire time. We finally got to an open area, when he dropped down to one knee. It was soo sweet and he really listened when I told him that I wanted that day to be special. The whole day was planned PERFECTLY. We later went to celebrate my birthday AND my engagement that night!
I felt SO honored to have the privilege to serve this couple on the most important day of their lives and I would do it 10x over if I could. As always, THANK YOU for choosing and trusting Stephanie Michelle Photography with your wedding! Without further adieu, please enjoy these beautiful images from Mr & Mrs Martinez Wedding.
